Sawmill Services
We are happy to offer a professional sawmilling service from our site in Edale, Derbyshire. Whether you have a single log from a garden tree or a larger quantity of timber from woodland management, estate work or tree surgery operations, we can convert your logs into usable timber to your requirements.
Using our chainsaw mill and bandsaw mill, we can produce everything from live edge slabs and wide boards through to beams, posts and timber cut to specific dimensions. Milling your own logs is often an excellent way to make use of quality timber that would otherwise become firewood, while retaining the character and provenance of the original tree.
Logs are milled at our yard in Edale and can be brought to us by trailer or suitable transport. For larger quantities we can often recommend local hauliers to assist with moving timber to site.
Our double-ended chainsaw mill is ideal for slabbing larger logs and reducing oversized timber ready for the bandsaw mill. Between the two machines we can process virtually any size log, having previously milled timber over 6ft in diameter. Smaller logs of around 24″ diameter and below are generally best suited to the bandsaw mill, allowing efficient production of boards and sections.
We regularly mill a wide range of species including oak, ash, sycamore, beech and other native hardwoods. Timber can be cut to maximise yield, produce live edge slabs, create beam stock, or generate boards suitable for furniture making, joinery and general construction projects.
