We currently do not charge VAT.

Here at the Quartersawn Oak company we have NO minimum order, we will happily give you a price for any sizes that you require. As a professional cabinet making business we can supply complex cutting lists, so if your making a 6″ square bread board or a 8ft Welsh dresser we can accommodate you.

Due to past experiences we don’t supply flooring or timber for flooring.

There are 3 ways to buy timber from us;

  1. Waney Edge- these are boards straight out of the stack with sapwood and waste still attached, priced at £55.56 per cubic foot (1/2″ and 1″). Collection is preferred if you would like to select your own boards, otherwise we will happily select boards out to your requirements and organise delivery, please call or email to arrange this.
  2. Rough Sawn Cut To Size (R/S)- boards are square edged with the sap and waste removed ready to be planned and thicknessed.
  3. Planned All Round (PAR)- fully planned and thicknessed to your required specification.

All timber is machined to order. We welcome visitors to the workshop although we can often be out, please call or email if you would like to come and discuss your requirements.

Cut to spec oak logs

One of the services we offer is to mill entire trees to your specification, this works out to be quite a cost effective method of sourcing timber. We have a good selection of oak logs available all year around from which you can select your preferred one, we will then mill the log to your required sections, e.g. 1/2″, 5/8″, 1″, 11/4″, 11/2″, 2″, 2.5″, 3″, 4″, these will all be Quartersawn, we find it best to cut a selection of 3-4 thicknesses as this gives a good quantity of each depending on the project you have in mind, the timber is then yours to collect, stick, and season yourself, this we recommend takes 1 year per inch plus a year and we can give you as much advice as possible upon enqiring, these are all large English oak trees specifically sourced for quartersawing. Through this method we can supply you with a minimum of one quarter, half a log (2 quarters), a whole or several logs depending on your requirements. To enquire please call or email on the above details.
